A little about me…

I received my Bachelor of Business in Management from the University of Phoenix. I was a non-traditional student when I returned to the classroom. My journey to higher education started on an interesting path when I followed my dream of being on stage. This dream led me to travel and perform repertoire theater and finally becoming a cast member (a lifelong dream fulfilled) of Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom where I was part of the brand-new opening of The Lion King Show. Realizing that I needed to complete my education, I worked and attended classes at University of Phoenix. While working in higher education, I discovered my new passion of working with students.

Years later, I came back to Illinois to care for an ailing parent full time. Currently, I work for John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL as a Coordinator of Athletic Services. Working with student athletes has ignited my drive and motivated me to obtain my Master's degree in Higher Education. Our students come from various backgrounds and each has a story to tell including first generation and socioeconomically disadvantaged students. For many of them, scholarships are the only way they have the opportunity to attend college. I am aspiring to move up into leadership in higher education. I would like to remain in the community college setting where I can help traditional and non-traditional students.
